Electrotherapy treatments are most commonly employed to relieve pain, reduce swelling, relax muscles, speed up healing, and stimulate acupuncture points. Physiotherapists have been using various forms and equipment to administer these treatments with great success.
Some of the techniques of Electro therapy used in Ortho Neuro Physiotherapy Clinic are as under:
-
Ultrasound
-
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation
-
Interferential Therapy (IFT)
-
Spinal traction
-
Pelvic (Continuous/intermittent)
-
Cervical (Continuous/intermittent)

Manual therapy
Manual Therapy include but are not limited to, physiotherapy/physical therapy, osteopathy, chiropractic and musculoskeletal medicine. Manual therapy is the latest, advanced and superior treatment approach in Physical therapy. Most of the physical therapy modalities address the symptoms of the problem. On the other hand, manual therapy addresses the source (cause) of the problem. Therefore, patients and clients get complete recovery and he/she would not face the same problem again.
We approach restoration of your movement and function from a different perspective. We provide a specialized form of physical therapy called Manual Therapy. Our therapists use their hands to correct problems in joints, muscle tissues, or connective tissues. Correcting mechanical problems goes to the root of most patients’ pain. We like to work on the source of a patient’s problem and the results are restoration of movement, function, and quality of life.
Mechanical therapy
Mechanical therapy was only prescribed for those patients whose motion had reached a plateau when treated with physical therapy alone. As an adjunct to outpatient physical therapy, patients were asked to perform six 10-minute bouts of end-range stretching per day with the ERMI Knee Extensionater, the ERMI Knee Extensionater is a device that increases passive knee extension through the use of a three-point bending system. A rigid frame is placed posterior to the patient’s lower extremity, with the patient’s heel placed in a contoured foam pad that discourages hip external rotation. An inflatable air cuff is then secured on the anterior aspect of the leg, proximal to the level of the patella. As the patient inflates the air cuff, the knee is moved to the end range of motion. Patients were instructed to inflate the air cuff until the point to where they feel they are recreating the intensity of the stretch that was provided by their physical therapist. ERMI Knee Extensionater was used as an adjunct to physical therapy for patients with knee flexion contractures
The Prosthetic Aid
The Prosthetic Aid is a portable mobility device configured expressly for use by those who have undergone leg amputation. The design intent is to provide amputees a simple way in which to move about freely at home, in hospitals, nursing facilities, hotels, and various other locations without requiring them to first apply their prosthetic appliances. This prosthetic aid is ideal for emergency situations that may occur in these many different facilities.
Prosthetic Aid is a necessary mobility tool for consumers with prosthetic legs.
